 I'm always seeing questions about how much does x weigh. So, I decided to throw together this quick page which lists the weights of anything I can find that people have on their 4th Gen F-Body. Not only do I want to have as many stock parts listed here, but also aftermarket parts. What this will do is help those serious drag racers out there get an idea of just how much weight they can save by removing a certain part. Or, if they want to purchase a certain aftermarket part (like a set of wheels) they can see how much those wheels weigh and get an idea of how they compare to the ones they have. A good rule of thumb for 4th Gen F-Bodies is 100 lbs = 10 hp = 1/10 a second off 1/4 mile time. Figure out a way to get rid of 200 lbs and you have bettered yourself in the 1/4 mile about what a 20hp mod would do for you! I'm going to break this down into different sections to make it easier. In each section, I'll put the heaviest part first. I'd like to make this a useful page! Unfortunately, I don't have weights to all that many parts. So, if you have weights to anything you have removed please shoot me an email with what you have and I"ll add it here for everyone to see! Or, even if you have something that you took off the car and is sitting in the garage, please take a couple minutes with the old bathroom scale and weigh it for me! :) Almost all the weights on this page will come froma bathroom scale... if you have weights of something that doesn't match what I have, please let me know that too!
